Cumbrian Farmhouse
Interior & Garden
Originally a farmhouse, 5 bedroomed detached stone property, with modern glass extension.
Brief – To redesign the garden to accommodate garden room extension, creating a sympathetic transition from formal country garden out to meadows & the greater landscape.
Interior to be: Simple, light, robust, textures rather than patterns (wood, stone, simple textiles), organic – evolving gradually, fitting in with what’s already there, comfortable, relaxed, lived-in.

Client Testimonial
“We had been searching for a designer who would work quite flexibly and in collaboration with us. We had ideas of how the house would look but not the experience or time to do it. We wanted to keep the sense of an old Cumbrian farmhouse whilst updating it and ensuring that it felt “right” for us. Carole has that approach. We are also grateful to her for saving us from the occasional impetuous mistake.”
