  Rosewood
Interior

A 1930s semi-detached house with modern extension.

Brief - Pretty, simple, modern, uncluttered earth colours with rustic touches. Sympathetic blending of modern extension with original building & 1930s references.

  Lakeside Cottage
Interior & Garden

A modernised Arts & Crafts cottage on the shore of Lake Windermere with small garden.

Brief - Warm, welcoming and comfortable, mitigating the effect of a profusion of orange pine on all interior doors and cupboards,  and a loss of period features.  Pull together existing mismatch of furniture to make it work without replacing.  Nothing too clean and sterile. Design not to look designed. Pretty cottage garden with year-round evergreen structure.

A 1960s 3-storey detached house high above the River Sprint, with steeply sloping garden.

Brief - Contemporary with touches of Art Deco, elegant, spacious & clutter-free, clean lines. Naturalistic garden, blending the transition between the area around the house and the woodland belonging to it.

19C farmhouse, with former farm buildings converted to 5 star holiday lets. 4 acre garden, including borders, terraces, ponds and arboretum. See more at the Mirefoot website.

Brief – Sympathetic division of garden belonging to family home,  holiday cottages and spa, allowing privacy, seating areas and parking.  Relaxed English Country garden style.

  Cumbrian Farmhouse
Interior & Garden

Originally a farmhouse, 5 bedroomed detached stone property, with modern glass extension.

Brief – To redesign the garden to accommodate garden room extension, creating a sympathetic transition from formal country garden out to meadows & the greater landscape.

Interior to be: Simple, light, robust, textures rather than patterns (wood, stone, simple textiles), organic – evolving gradually, fitting in with what’s already there, comfortable, relaxed, lived-in.
